There are times when I need to have my phone handy, even when I’m swimming in the lake. While the Speed Hound Buoy I use allows me to keep my essentials with me during my workouts, its waterproof phone case gives me added peace of mind.
Snap Seal
Made out of see-through waterproof material, the swim case fits a variety of phone sizes. My hard-shell encased iPhone SE easily fits into the case. The top of the case has three Ziplock-style seals, which make pleasing “snap” noises as I press them together, letting me know the seal has been made.
Once I’m all snapped in, I roll the top of the case under, then hold it in place with the tab that covers the roll and attaches with a Velcro-like material to the side of the case.

The case also has quite a long adjustable strap, making it a versatile accessory for many outdoor adventures. I don’t always remember to wear rain gear, so it’s nice to know that as we head into fall weather, I can keep my phone safe and dry when I’m out for a walk or fishing at night.
I’ve used the Speed Hound Phone Case several times now inside my Speed Hound Swim Buoy, and my phone has remained safe and dry each time. Yesterday I didn’t seal the dry bag correctly because I was in a hurry, and a tiny bit of water got into my buoy. Lucky for me, my phone was perfectly sealed and safe.
Time for Play, Time for Work
I was in the lake for hours today, swimming, floating on my back, lounging on my donut-shaped floaty. Then my phone alarm let me know it was time to get out of the lake and go inside to make a few calls before the end of the business day. Very handy.
Tomorrow, I don’t have any important calls, so I will be letting the phone case rest while I swim.
Update
10/15.2022 After using the pouch for a few weeks, the material degraded along the seams in between the seals. It didn’t matter that much to me because I was still able to use the role top AND I already have a waterproof case on my iPhone. I think best use of this pouch would be for a vacation where it will only be used a handful of times over a week or two. It’s not designed for long-term, repeated use.
Bottom Line
This is a must-have item for lake swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports.
