Comfy urban classic sneaker/slipper/runner with wool upper.
I’m a big fan of classic-style sneakers. They look great with shorts, jeans, or a casual dress. Unfortunately, most sneakers just aren’t that comfortable for me because they lack support. I need a sturdy shoe that I can wear out and about that also keeps my feet happy if I want to stop in the park for an hour-long walk. Deckers X Lab X-Scape Wool Low is that shoe and more.
Sporty Style
I love the classic minimal styling and the innovative use of wool in the upper. Wool is naturally resistant to dirt and ordor; it also breathes well. My feet stay comfortable when I wear my Deckers X Lab X-Scape Wool Low shoes: just the right temperature. The color options also make this shoe a fashionable choice. Basic black is always appropriate, but the unique colors and patterns in men’s and women’s styles are fun and sporty.
Slip-On Comfort
After wearing the Deckers X Lab X-Scape Mid Shoe, which has more volume, throughout the winter months, I was surprised by the Deckers X Lab X-Scape Wool Low’s slimmer profile. I can still fit my full-length cork and leather (read=bulky) insole into the shoe, but the upper has a snug fit. Not a problem. I wear the shoes with a thin, no-show sock or without any socks.
Stable Sole
The key to Deckers X Lab’s comfortable shoes is a combination of a rocker sole with energy return midsole that’s both cushy and supportive with every step. The sole roles heel to toe with each step, so there is less flexing through the forefoot that I would experience in most other cushioned shoes. It’s an important design distinction, especially for people like me with metatarsal issues.
Most people don’t know that a super flexible midsole that feels good in the store won’t provide adequate support over the course of a long walk or other activities. The Deckers X Lab X-Scape Wool Low never feels wobbly or too soft because the cushioning pushes back. The result is a spring in my step that lasts much longer that I would have expected. I have Deckers X Lab shoes that are more than a year old that still feel cushy.
Deckers X Lab’s categorization of the X-Scape Wool Low as “sneaker/slipper/runner” is apt. It’s comfy enough to wear as a slipper, stylish enough to wear as a sneaker, and stable enough to wear running. I’m not sure I could ask for anything more. I love these shoes.
