All-purpose Turkish cotton blanket.
Blankets are in a special category for me, gear I love having but often forget I need. Teema’s The Stone Blanket is helping me remember how beneficial a good blanket can be.
So Many Uses
Made out of 100% organic Turkish cotton, this large (84″ x 71”), stone-washed woven blanket has a comforting lived-in look and feel, like my favorite sweatshirt but better because it’s made out of tightly-woven cotton that’s elegant in its simplicity, durability, and versatility.
I’ve used many blankets over the years, and the The Stone Blanket is one of my favorites because it’s large enough to function in so many ways that are important to me. I’m a year-round open water swimming, so I spent a lot of time in and near water. My friend can hold up The Stone Blanket as a modesty shield when I need to change out of wet gear at the beach. I can also use it as my base camp when socializing at the beach; there’s room for few of us to sit and relax.
The blanket is excellent at shedding sand, so I can give it a couple of shakes then stuff it back into my pack with confidence, knowing I’m not going to end up bringing sand into my house. I really appreciate this because other blankets (and towels) I’ve used collected sand, which ended up in my washing machine.

I’ve also used The Stone Blanket as a bedspread when my usual covering is too warm. It’s my “go to” blanket for overnights guests, who often do not want to part with its cozy softness in the morning. Because The Stone Blanket is lightweight and thin, it’s easy to pack. I often grab it when I leave for an outing or adventure, knowing it will come in handy at some point. I love wrapping myself in it and wearing it as a shawl around my drafty house. The Stone Blanket always ends up getting used for something, by somebody. Most recently, it was my tablecloth for a seaside picnic.
Quick-Drying

Another thing I love about The Stone Blanket is how quickly the fabric drys. I tend to do laundry late at night, just before bed, then throw items on a drying rack (the blanket can be machine washed and dried, but I rarely use my dryer) right out the washer. The next day the blanket is always dry even though most of my clothes still feel damp because nothing ever dries in the weird Seattle indoor air. I have had similar experiences hanging up the blanket after pulling it out of my wet swimming gear bag at midnight (because sometimes I forget to unpack my wet swimming gear bag), then finding it dry the next morning. I don’t like washing things too often because I’d rather conserve water. Because The Stone Blanket dries quickly it never gets moldy or mildewy and can be used many times before it needs washing.
While I am most enamored with Teema’s The Stone Blanket for all the functions it serves in my active outdoor life, I should comment on how attractive the blanket is, managing to be both casual and sort of luxurious. Soft and strong. Timeless style. Every time I see or touch the blanket it evokes an image of my fantasy beach cottage: whitewashed wooden walls, cerulean blue door, some driftwood art on the wall, and maybe and ancient nautical instrument on a bookshelf. Cosy.
Bottom Line
For an item I often forget I need, Teema’s The Stone Blanket has become central to my outdoor adventures (and to my indoor lounging). I love the fabric’s feel, performance, and usability. I especially like that Teema uses organic cotton that is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 CERTIFIED. The Stone Blanket is incredibly well made with eco-conscious standards. I know it will be in my pack, my car, and draped across my couch, for years to come.
