Sockwell Ascend II Micro Compression Sock

black short hiking sock

Short compression socks for hiking.

Lean and Mean

I wear full-length orthotics, and I have a brace on my left leg, so there’s a lot going on in my shoes. That means my socks need to be near perfect, which, for me means:  thin and foot-hugging. Sockwell’s Ascend II Micro Compression Sock is both, plus it boasts a seam-free toe box, arch-hugging support, and a defined heel cup.

Even in chilly temps I prefer short socks when I’m exercising since I wear leggings or tights. I just don’t like having socks on my lower legs when they’re already covered. Sockwell’s Ascend II Micro Compression Sock has been ideal for me. It’s a moderate level compression sock that’s designed with special panels to hug my feet in all the right places.

I like having the compression for any health benefits it might impart and because the sock doesn’t bunch up in my shoe. The Ascend II Micro Compression Sock has medium level cushioning on the bottom, which gives the sock a tiny but of cush. I’ll take it.

The Ascend II Micro Compression Sock is made out of 41% Merino Wool, 14% Alpaca, 39% Stretch Nylon, 6% Spandex. The wool content does a great job of keeping the sock stink-free, even after a long day.

Bottom Line

These are my “go to” socks for power walks, short hikes, and other sporty outings because they fit well and don’t take up precious space inside my shoes.

The women’s style is available in sizes S/M and M/L in three colors: Grey, Natural, and Black. Also available in men’s sizes M/L, L/XL in black.
