Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger

Lightweight merino-TENCEL blend joggers

Cozy Comfort

Two months into my dream trip to Sweden, it’s finally cold enough to wear long pants.

After an unusually warm September, during which I lived in shorts and t-shirts, the temperatures dropped significantly and quickly to 38 F the other night while I was cycling home in shorts. I thought my legs were going to freeze solid. I was so happy to get home and pull on my Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger pant.

Made out of a lightweight blend of merino wool and Tencel, this cozy, comfy pant is ideal as loungewear when I need to warm up after being out in the cold. I love the thin, stretchy material because it allows me total freedom of movement. I also appreciate that a very thin layer can provide the warmth I want when I’m cold. I’m done with bulky sweatpants.

Well-Made

The Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger pant has small, zippered front pockets. I like the slanted pocket style and the way the zippers are hidden from view, but I wish the pockets were bigger and deeper. I like having lots of pocket space.

The seams are flat-locked so I have never experienced any chafing. I like the wide elastic waistband because it lies flat against my body and does’t curl under. There’s also a drawstring if I want to cinch the pants tighter.

The Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger pant is described as mid-rise, but I think it can be worn higher on the waist, too. Personally, I often fold the waistband down because I miss low-rise pants!

The pant has jogger-style cuffed hems, but the cuffs are loose, which I like. Easy on, easy off. I’m also impressed with the length. I’m a 34” inseam in pants, and most women’s pants, sweats, and joggers are too short for me. The length of this pant is perfect for me.

Great for Workouts

Now that the cold is here to stay I’ve been wearing the Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger pant on my daily rides around Stockholm. I like the merino-Tencel blend because I get the benefits of wool–wicking, breathing, anti-odor–in a stronger blend fabric, thanks to the Tencel. I get light protection from the cold, and the pant breathes well so I don’t arrive at my destination in soggy, sweaty pants.

Bottom Line

The Ridge Merino Women’s Natural Merino TENCEL Jogger pant has been my “go to” pant for travel. It’s been perfect for relaxing and for activity. Thanks to the anti-odor properties of the wool in the fabric, I can wear the pants several times before they need washing.

Available in women’s sizes XS – XL in colors: Black, Mineral Blue, Outerspace, Charcoal Heather, and Olive Night. My measurements put me at a size XL, but I wanted a slimmer fitting pant and ended up preferring the size L. (See Ridge Merino’s men’s jogger pants.)
