Paka Performance 3/4 Crew Sock

Lightweight alpaca sock

Fit and Function

Paka’s ultra-thin Performance 3/4 Crew Socks are super soft, super thin, and fit me perfectly.

Made out of a luxuriously soft yarn blend of 33% Baby Alpaca Fiber, 7% Tencel, 57% Recycled Nylon, 3% Spandex, these yummy socks feel wonderful against my skin and are designed to hug my feet in all the right places. The socks feature a compression weave around the arch and ribbed compression on the top of the socks that keeps them in place. A snug fit is important for comfort. I can’t stand having socks bunch and move inside my shoes.

Alpaca wool offers many of the same benefits of wool, such as odor-resistance thermoregulation, but it’s lighter in weight and better at not retaining water. I thought my Performance 3/4 Crew Sock s did a great job of wicking and breathing, and even after wearing them for four days in a row, they didn’t smell. The ventilation mesh is great for allowing my feet to breathe and for moisture to evaporate.

Sleek and Soft

Right out of the package I wore the Performance 3/4 Crew Socks all day for several days. I love the 3/4 size that’s midway between a crew sock and a quarter sock. I like having a bit more leg coverage than quarter socks, but I don’t really need a full-length crew sock. The less material on my leg, the better, since I like wearing leggings. The Performance 3/4 Crew Socks were so soft and comfortable that I didn’t want to take them off. I wore them for daily power walks. I even wore them to bed because I didn’t want to be separated from their cosy softness.

On the rare occasions when I wash my Performance 3/4 Crew Socks, I literally count the minutes until the wash is over and I can hang them up to dry, knowing I’ll wear them soon.

I love the Performance 3/4 Crew Socks’ seam-free construction; there is nothing in the socks to chafe against my skin. I’m also a big fan of the encouraging words woven into the tops of the socks that remind me to, “Go Outside In Nature.” I’m usually not a fan of socks designated for specific feet, but the words are much more helpful in guiding me if there is a good reason to wear them on “the right” feet.

For me good socks are socks that I never have to think about, and I would include Paka’s Performance 3/4 Crew Socks in that designation. I put them on, savoring the the feeling of the soft yarn on my skin, then slip my feet into my shoes and go. My feet can breathe, the wicking prevents my feet from feeling clammy, and I stay comfortable all day.
