Buff’s Pack Merino Fleece Cap is ideal for times I need a brim to block the sun and want a hat I can fold up and shove into a pack sleeve or jacket pocket.
I like its light weight and baseball cap look, but it fits more like a traditional wool hat. It’s got some volume, and it covers my ears, which is important. The cap is partially lined with a wide cotton headband that feels soft against my skin.
I’ll admit that I was expecting a wool baseball cap, so it took me a few wears to get used to the fit and the light weight. It’s floppier than I had expected, but it provides great coverage. I like it for active pursuits where I need a bit of protection but also breathability when I heat up. There’s a small toggle on the back of the cap that allows me to cinch the cap tighter.
