My carryon bag does double duty. It holds my work gear (laptop, iPad, notebooks, pens) and my mini toiletry bag. I don’t ever want the two to meet, but it’s hard to know if a plastic sandwich bag is gonna work the way I need it to. So, I’ve started keeping my liquid items secure with Nite Ice’s RunOff® Waterproof 3-1-1 Pouch when I travel.
The pouch is gusseted to make it easier to pack, and there’s just enough room inside for three or four small bottles and a small bar of soap. The clear top side of the bag allows airport staff to see what’s inside the bag. The zipper makes a secure seal, and the pouch comes with a lubricating towelette to keep it functioning optimally. The main fabric of the pouch looks like canvas but is a durable TPU material. I’ve been using it for more than two months, and it still looks new.
The other way I use the The Nite Ize RunOff® Waterproof 3-1-1 Pouch is for storing my iPhone. I’m an open water swimmer, and I like to use my phone’s GPS app to record my swimming workouts. The pouch is designated with an IP67 rating, which means it is watertight for up to 30 minutes at one meter underwater. I seal my phone inside the pouch, place it inside my swim buoy, and forget it. I’ve been swimming with it several times a week with no problems. The clear side of the bag is designed to allow me to use my touchscreen when my iPhone is in the bag. It works great.
The Nite Ize RunOff® Waterproof 3-1-1 Pouch has loops on the back so it can be worn on a belt. There are also reinforced tabs on the ends of the bag if I wanted to attach a strap (sold separately).
