I never thought much about my gloves beyond how they kept my hands warm, but after wearing Hestra’s Ergo Grip Active Gloves I have a whole new appreciation for superior glove engineering.
Wow. The ergonomic design is amazing, giving my fingers effortless gripping ability. I have never worn such comfortable gloves.
The palms are made out of soft goatskin leather, and the tops of the gloves are made out of lightweight, windproof, breathable GORE-TEX Infinium™ stretch fabric. The design, construction, and materials allow me to grip poles, handlebars, and my fishing rod with no resistance from the gloves or the material. That means no finger fatigue and good sensitivity.
Weather Protection
Hestra’s Ergo Grip Active Gloves have been ideal for night fishing. I feel confident of my grip and my mobility, and I never feel like I need to remove my gloves to have better contact or control.
The gloves also provide impressive wind protection. Even in mid-40s F temps it can feel ten degrees colder when there’s a breeze coming off the water. The GORE-TEX Infinium™ stretch fabric is quite effective and blocking the wind.
There’s a contrast-colored leather patch on the outer sides of both index fingers, some extra durability protection for a key high-wear area.
Fit for Action
Sometimes I have a hard time finding gloves that fit my entire hand. Maybe the fingers fit but the palms are a bit short or vice versa. I’ve found a great fit with Hestra’s Ergo Grip Active Gloves. The fingers are long enough for my long fingers, the palms are deep enough, and the neoprene wrist band is nice and wide. It’s simple to cinch the wrist band snugly with the Velcro strap, and no cold air gets in.
I’m usually a size 8 in Hestra gloves, but I found a better fit in a size 9 that allows me to wear thin liner gloves underneath.
Bottom Line
I love these comfortable, versatile gloves for activities where I want to feel confident in my grip. The lining is soft on my skin, the ergonomic design allows me to easily hold or grip all types of equipment and gear, and I get superior wind protection.
