Ultra-light gloves for water sports.
UPF50 Sun Protection
These lightweight gloves have been so handy this summer. I swim in the lake near by house several times a week, so I need an effective solution for sun protection.
The Buff Aqua Gloves are lightweight and take up almost no space in my gear bag. They also feel comfortable in the water, and they dry quickly after use. I was concerned about drag, but I don’t swim fast enough to notice any issues.
Because I already have a staging area near my front door where I pack my gear back and hang my swim things to dry, it’s easy to add the gloves into my existing routines.
Convenient and Simple
For me it’s easier and faster to wear the Buff Aqua Gloves when I swim than it is to apply sunscreen. Even if I remember sunscreen, which I rarely do, I tend to throw it onto my face and shoulders as I’m running out the door. It would never occur to me to slow down and make sure I rub it into the backs of my hands.
The Buff Aqua Gloves are so thin that I barely notice them. They are made out of an anti-microbial fabric that is 80% Polyester and 20% Spandex. I’m not always a fan of anti-microbial fabrics because I mostly wear natural fiber clothing, but I like the feature for these gloves because the lake is full of icky stuff that can lead to smells. I try to remember to rinse my gear after every swim, but it’s nice to know that the material isn’t going to smell.
