Waterproof phone case.

I swim in a nearby lake a few times a week, and I need to keep my phone with me so I can take photos, set my alarm, and track my workout. AquaVault’s Phone Case is one of the cases I use.

Dry Functional Phone

The AquaVault case is made out of a semi-flexible clear PVC material that allows me to use my iPhone interface and take photos and videos. The case has a Ziploc style seal that clicks closed, then can be rolled down and tucked under a top flap that securely holds down the rolled section for a triple seal. The case comes with an adjustable neck lanyard.

I tested the AquaVault case a few times a week over the course of a month, and found that it kept my phone dry and functional. When my iPhone was inside the case I was still able to use it to make and receive calls, to select and use apps, and to take photos and videos. Because I have a protective case on my iPhone, I was surprised that I was still able to use the touch interface when the encased phone was in the AquaVault case.

Most often I stored The AquaVault case inside my swim buoy while swimming. Even when moisture got inside my buoy, no water penetrated the phone case. I also tested the AquaVault case while wearing it around my neck, although I would not recommend wearing the case while swimming because it floated up around my neck and interfered with my stroke. Still, I found the lanyard helpful for keeping my phone handy while preparing to get into the water.

Pool Pouch

While the AquaVault case worked for me, I think it is better suited for use in and around the pool rather than for swim workouts or open water swimming. I think it would be great for beach and pool use, as well as boating, while on vacation because it’s simple to use and does a good job of protecting a phone while maintaining functionality. However, with more regular use the top of the case started pulling part a bit right at the seal. I was still able to use the rolling and top flap to keep the case sealed, but expected the material to be more durable.
