Lightweight, durable organization and compression
During my months-long trip in Sweden I have been using Tripped packing cubes to help me organize clothing, compress several jackets, and provide me with storage for some odd-sized items.
The lightweight nylon Tripped packing cubes have sturdy zippers with zipper pulls that help me find the zippers quickly. I tested white cubes with dark grey zippers, but the cubes come in a variety of colors.
I’ve moved every month during the past six months, and the Tripped packing cubes and their zippers have held up well to lots of packing and unpacking. The woven nylon handles on the top ends of the packing cubes give me a visible and quick way to grab them and pack them into my suitcase. They also help me organize my clothing on shelves at my accommodations. I leave most items in the cubes so that I can stay organized wherever I am.
When I was preparing for this trip I didn’t think I could find large enough cubes for my puffy jacket, but the Tripped set has two large cubes (each is 14” long x10” wide x 4” deep) that worked very well for all my outerwear. I packed my puffy jacket first, and even though I had to fold it a couple of times before I found the best way to stash it into the cube, I was impressed that I was able to use the compression zipper to cinch down the cube.

I packed more jackets into the other large cube, including: my rain jacket, my purple Adidas track jacket, a hybrid insulation jacket, and a wind vest. I admit that I had to wrestle it all in there, but the cube didn’t explode. I’d recommend not overstuffing like I do!
The two small cubes in the Tripped set were ideal for all of my tops: two long-sleeved blouses and several merino wool tees. I also stashed some lavender sachets into the cubes to keep the moths away from my wool. The set contains a long, narrow pouch that I used for three pairs of socks, and a looser style pouch that was ideal for underwear. These two bags do not have compression zippers, but their unique shapes worked well for my uses and for packing items into nooks and crannies in my suitcase and carry-on bag.

Finally, the laundry bag turned out to be one of my favorite items in the Tripped set because it helped me change some bad habits. At home I tend to drop things on the floor, on the end of my bed, and on my desk, making it hard to know what’s clean and what’s dirty. Using the Tripped laundry bag helped me keep my accommodations tidier and all my dirty clothes in one place.
Bottom Line

I have used several brands of packing cubes over the years, and there have only been a few brands that I really liked. Tripped is one of them now. The cubes are made out of a thin, lightweight nylon material, but they are not flimsy. I’ve been impressed with how durable the Tripped cubes are. I always pack too much, but the seams and zippers have performed beautifully to compress my cubes without bursting. The cubes also hold up well after washing (line dry), and the laundry bag has keep me organized and helped me keep all my dirty clothes in one place so I never forget items when I visit the laundry room. I have also used the smaller pouches a lot for day trips when I want to keep my hat and gloves handy or stash an extra pair of socks or a scarf.

Since I travel with lots of merino wool clothing that does’t need washing, the laundry bag became home for lots of dirty socks, underwear, and track pants. It easily holds enough for a load of washing in the small front-loading machines here. The bag is very durable; I’ve been throwing it in with the laundry every wash, about four times a month, and the seams are still very strong. No signs of wear on this bag!
Another thing I like about the Tripped packing cube set is the price. For a seven-piece set, I think under $50 is a great price. I’ve used packing cubes that were less expensive, and they were poorly made with lousy compression features. You get what you pay for, but in this case, you can save money and still get durable cubes.
