The North Face Women’s Thermoball™ Eco Parka

The North Face’s Women’s Thermoball™ Eco Parka is a trim, attractive lightweight parka that’s ideal in cool to cold temperatures.

Warmth Without Bulk

I love this jacket for everyday use because it’s more stylish than my trail jackets, it provides a lot of warmth without bulk, and the parka length give me the extra coverage I want on cold days. It’s also ideal for urban and travel settings since it packs down small and has a secret zippered pouch on the inside of the jacket.

The material is quite thin but somehow provides excellent insulation. I most often wear the parka in temperatures between 35 and 45 F, and stay warm enough with just a long-sleeved cotton tee underneath. I’ve worn it night fishing a few times, and it’s much colder on the bay so I’ve added a lost-sleeve flannel shirt and stayed perfectly warm.

Snug and Cozy

The parka isn’t rated highly for wind and rain protection, but it does a good job of keeping me dry on drizzly Seattle days. It has a flap of material underneath the zipper to block the elements, and a pre-cinched hood. I like how they designed it to fit snugly without ties. Inside the parka there are pull cords if I want to cinch the waist for a more fitted look. The hidden front pockets have a soft fleece-like lining and zipper enclosures.

The North Face’s Women’s Thermoball™ Eco Parka has been a versatile and cozy all-around winter jacket for me. It is more of a slim fit than I usually wear so I found the jacket a bit snug. I think the size is probably accurate and I’ve gained enough weight to need a larger size than in the past.
