Ridge Merino Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket

Warm, breathable jacket for layering.

Merino Blend Magic

Made out of Polartec® Power Wool™ Fleece with Merino Wool, Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket has been my top choice for winter outings.

I love the fit of this versatile fleece jacket. It’s cut quite long through the torso, providing amazing coverage of my waist area. I’m very tall, so I’m always happy to find women’s jackets that are long enough for me. It’s quite rare to find a jacket that gives me full coverage. The Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket has a wide banded hem, which keeps the jacket from curling up around the edges.

I get the same long cut in the sleeves, too. Yea! The Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket has extra long, tapered sleeves, with convenient thumb holes that help me hold the edges of the sleeves around my hands when I forget my gloves (which is often). I can do this without any tugging on the sleeves; I still have freedom of movement along my arms and in the shoulder area.

Warm, Functional

Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket has a nice tall collar that hugs my neck when fully zipped. The collar is thick, so it provides plenty of warmth on super cold days.

Zipper pulls on the main zip and on the side pockets zips help me find and use zippers quickly.

I like the roomy side pockets, but since the jacket is body-hugging I don’t like stuffing them very full. They work best with flat items, such as my phone and my wallet.

Lightweight, Versatile

The Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket is made out of “47% Wool, 42% Nylon, 11% Spandex  (230 g/sm).” It’s nice and stretchy, but the high nylon content means that the jacket also holds its shape well, better than many of my thinner 100% wool jackets. All of the seams are flat-stitched, so I have never experienced any chafing.

The fuzzy underside of the material is so luxuriously soft that I have worn the jacket next-to-skin because it’s so comfortable. The material feels thick, but it’s very light in weight.

I’ve worn the Ridge Merino’s Women’s Ediza Fleece Merino Jacket as a warm mid layer under an insulation jacket on cold days, under a rain shell on cool days, and as a top layer on cool, dry days. It does a great job of keeping me warm, and it breathes well, too, when I overdress or participate in more active outings.

Bottom Line

I love this cozy, well-designed jacket because I can wear it in so many different types of weather and for a variety of outdoor activities: fishing, hiking, power walking, and staying warm while watching soccer practices.
