Hex x Peanuts Exile Backpack

Nobody’s cooler than Joe Cool, which is why Hex’s Peanuts Collection daypack has become my number one bag.

Made out of black nylon covered in contrasting grey icons of musical notes; sunglasses; Joe Cool, himself; plus, his alter ego, Snoopy; this nostalgic bag brings a smile to my face and is still subtle enough for urban use. I’m not a kid, after all!

Good Organization

The Peanuts Exile Backpack is fairly lightweight, and has a large zippered pouch on the front that contains a nice organization system. A large flat sleeve covers the inside of the pouch, and its divided into two halves. I use one half for stashing my nutrition bars, and I use the mesh pouch for things I need to be able to find quickly, like my many lip balms. One top of the large sleeve there are two slim pouches for pens and a wider one that I use for my credit cards when I’m too lazy to put them back in my wallet. This large pouch also has a short key lanyard, which I think should be standard in every bag; I have been so much better about keeping track of my keys when I use this bag.

There’s a medium-sized pocket on the top right of the Peanuts Exile Backpack that has a waterproof zipper. I assume it’s for a cell phone, but I most often use it for small cosmetics items. One the opposite side of the bag there’s a sleeve for a water bottle.

Holds A Lot

The treat inside the Peanuts Exile Backpack: it’s lined with Peanuts comics! Linus and Charlie Brown are there with Snoopy, as well as everybody’s favorite sidekick, Woodstock. Since the pack is generously sized, I can pack quite a bit of my day into it: a pair of shoes (inside an Eagle Creek Specter Pack-It Shoe Cube) and a sweatshirt, a t-shirt, a pair of pants, a bottle of water (slim bottles like Cotopaxi’s Capa Vacuum Bottle work best), and a few magazines. There’s still room for a hat, a swimsuit, a bagged lunch… The inside of the bag has a computer sleeve, and the back of the pack is padded (and covered in mesh material), but I only carry my laptop in the bag when it’s first placed inside a protective case (an old-school Thule case here) because I’m paranoid.

Start the Day With Snoopy

I’ve been using my super cool Peanuts Exile Backpack for many months, now, and I think it’s ideal for daily use. The shoulder straps are padded and wide, so I haven’t had any problems wearing it. I like the black waterproof padding on the bottom of the back. It makes it easy for me to wipe it clean after I’ve been out and setting the bag down on all types of germ- and dirt-covered surfaces. I also appreciate the allowance Hex has built into the lightweight nylon handle. Maybe I’m just picky, but I like having a handle that’s loose enough that I can fit my hand through it when I’m in a rush and need to grab it and when I choose to carry it by hand.

Bottom Line: It’s held up well to months of daily use.  Bonus, I feel a bit cooler every time I put it on. What’s not to love.
