Hestra Infinium Stretch Liner Light Gloves

Ultra-thin windproof, breathable gloves for running and other sports.

Sleek and Snug

I expected to wear Hestra’s Infinium Stretch Liner Light Gloves while exploring Stockholm, Sweden by bike in October, but the weather didn’t cooperate, giving me warm and mostly sunny days. Now that I’m back in Seattle, WA, it’s finally cool, windy, and wet enough for me to wear these versatile gloves.

Hestra’s Infinium Stretch Liner Light Gloves are quite elegant, with absolutely no extra fabric or elements. Designed to fit snugly and function as liners, these super lightweight gloves are perfect as stand-alone gloves for blustery fall outings, whether I’m walking, power-walking, hiking, riding a bike, or just running errands.

I love the low-profile grippy shapes on the palms of the gloves, and on three of the fingertips, that  allow me to get some purchase on my bike handle bars, open doors, and easily use my iPhone to text without removing my gloves. That’s essential for me.

Windproof and Breathable

I wish these gloves had been around when I was a runner in the ‘80s because they are ideal for exercising in cool to cold weather. Thanks to GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® in the fabric, these gloves provide great wind protection on days where it’s not super cold (50’s F) but the wind is so strong that it feels much colder. They also breathe well. I tend to get quite warm within a few minutes of exercising, so it’s nice to have gloves that I don’t have to remove after ten minutes. Back in the day I lost many gloves because I tore them off after a couple of miles when my hands felt too warm.

Hestra’s Infinium Stretch Liner Light Gloves have just a bit of stretch in them—just enough to allow me to slip my hands inside and to hug my hands and fingers. I’ve been wearing them during my evening power-walks and after my open water swimming sessions. On windy days it is very cold on the beach, so it’s critical that I get warm as soon as I get out of the water. I pull on a warm hat and the Infinium Stretch Liner Light Gloves to protect me from the wind chill, and it’s incredible how effective that combo is. I wish they had some for my feet!

I will be wearing these gloves all winter because I live in a temperate climate. Additionally, I hope to use them as liners under Hestra winter gloves for snowshoeing trips to the mountains and for those days when the temps drop down to freezing.

Bottom Line

I love these gloves because they check so many boxes for me across several activities. They are well made, fit perfectly, and keep my hands warm. Hestra is top outdoor gear brand based in Sweden.
