I used to pack a garbage bag in my suitcase when I traveled so I would have a dirty clothes bag for the return trip, but after using an Eagle Creek Pack-It Specter Tech™ Clean/Dirty Cube on two long trips this summer, I have a much better system.

The Pack-It Specter Tech™ Clean/Dirty Cube is made out of an ultra thin, lightweight material and contains two zippered compartments divided by a water resistant material. I tested a medium-sized Clean/Dirty Cube, and it was just the right size for my workout clothes.

One the way out I packed capri tights, long shorts, a sports bra, and two short-sleeved shirts into the “clean” compartment, leaving the “dirty” compartment empty. Although I was able to do laundry on my trips, I still had to move around between lodgings, so I was glad to have a place to stash sweaty, smelly items while in transit. The divider was effective; my clean clothes stayed clean and smelled clean.

I really love the super thin, ripstop material used for the Pack-It Specter Tech™ cubes. It’s a huge step forward from the clunky old-school cubes I tested in the past. At just four ounces, the Clean/Dirty Cube adds nothing but organization to my suitcase. Sweet.

I also appreciate the zipper pulls for each compartment that make it easy to access the contents. The cube has two soft nylon handles, one at each end, that help me quickly grab it out of the suitcase and allow me to hang the cube from a hook or hanger if I choose.

The Pack-It Specter Tech™ Clean/Dirty Cube dimensions are 10″ w x 13.5″ l x 4″ d. It easily holds several items, more than I packed in it.

A couple of things I found confusing about the cube I tested, which was white on both sides: the large letter “M” and the text “clean/dirty” on the front of the cube. Neither felt necessary, and initially, I didn’t know that the bottom compartment was designated for dirty clothes. I never noticed the contrasting zipper colors until I started working on this review. It would have been much easier to figure out if the top of the cube was labeled “clean” and the bottom of the cube was labeled “dirty.” It’s not a big deal, but it was a bit confusing.

The other Pack-It Specter Tech™ Clean/Dirty Cube colors provide more clarity design-wise even with the text on the front of the cube: White/Black, with the black side covering the “dirty” compartment, and Indigo, which also has contrasting material colors for the different compartments.
