I love Rumpl’s insulated Original Puffy Blanket. It’s cozy, it’s soft, and it’s got me covered no matter where I go. Now it’s available in PRIDE, a rainbow-striped style supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Weather & Terrain Resistant

The bright blanket is made out of the same type of tough nylon that jackets are, a DWR-coated material that resists water, dirt, and whatever I encounter at the park or beach. (Rumpl claims that the blanket is resistant to pet hair, too, but I wasn’t able to test that features since animals give me asthma. Still, good to know it’s not a tragedy if my friend’s dog sneaks onto it for a nap.)

Versatile Outdoors and In

I like that the PRIDE Original Puffy Blanket is  large enough that I can wrap it around myself, sleep under it (at 50” x 70,” it’s almost the size of my double bed), or invite friends to sit on it with me. I used to laugh at the middle-aged people I saw at outdoor events, bringing their own blankets and chairs. Now I’m one of them. Comfort if everything!

Packable & Washable

The synthetic insulation is light, fluffy, and compressible. The PRIDE Original Puffy Blanket comes in its own stuff sack; it’s not too hard to fold it, roll it, and get it into the sack (even for me.) Once the blanket is in the sack it’s compact enough that I can strap it to the back of my pack (or just toss into my trunk). 

This versatile blanket has been to several parks, two beaches, and one backyard picnic. I’ve also used it to stay warm on my deck on the one summer night when the night temperatures got quite chilly. Thanks to the synthetic insulation, the PRIDE Original Puffy Blanket is machine washable! I don’t have to have a blanket that smells like last month’s campsite unless I want to. 

By far the best feature of the PRIDE blanket is the pride. Rumpl will donate $5 to the Trevor Project, an LGBTQ+ suicided prevention organization, for every blanket sold. It’s a perfect gift for anyone you know who’s outdoorsy (or indoorsy).
