I do not like surprise parties, but I love surprises. Who knew I’d find a soft, silky, all-purpose black top at Royal Robbins? Enter the Merinolux™ Go Everywhere® Crew!
Made out of 32% merino wool and 68% Sorona®, this lightweight, long-sleeved crew has been one of my favorite shirts this winter. It’s more than a simple yet attractive top to wear with jeans; I’ve found that it’s also great for yoga, for hiking, and for long, long days of endless walking when traveling. It wicks well, it’s lightweight but provides warmth, it dries quickly (so by the time I’m done exploring local trails I can comfortably go have my tea and not feel all clammy), and it resists wrinkles well (good for travel and for my messy-throw-my-clothes-on-the-couch-and-let-them-sit-there-for-weeks lifestyle).
The Merinolux™ Go Everywhere® Crew also provides UPF 50+ sun protection, although I can’t say I tested for that since it’s been grey and raining where I live for weeks. Still, nice to know.
I love the material of this comfy top. It feels slinky like silk and soft like cotton, a winning combination. I also appreciate the flat seams. I didn’t experience any chafing while wearing the crew. The Merinolux™ Go Everywhere® Crew would be ideal for people new to merino who aren’t yet convince that merino isn’t itchy.
The only thing I would change about this top is making the torso and sleeves longer. The Merinolux™ Go Everywhere® Crew fits me perfectly, but at 6′ tall, I would love to have more torso and wrist coverage.
