Lightweight merino blend performance tee
Available in women’s and men’s sizes, Mammut’s Tree Wool FL T-Shirt has been a fantastic travel shirt for my adventures in Sweden.
Made out of 50% wool and 50% Lycocell (a durable fiber made from trees), this ultra-thin, lightweight tee is a dream to wear because it does a great job of breathing and wicking away sweat, it resists odors (so I can wear it 4 or 5 days in a row before I feel like I need to wash it), and its loose cut gives me a very comfortable fit for every activity.
Odor-resistant
When I was in Malmö last month I wore the shirt every day for long bike rides and for a few train journeys. I relied on the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt to regulate my temperature on warm days. I got lost often, so I usually ended up spending more time than I had planned for my adventures, expending more energy, and arriving at my next scheduled activity late and sweaty! At least my shirt dried quickly and didn’t smell. That’s important when I’m on a crowed train.
Not having to carry a lot of gear or do laundry often are both key benefits of merino wool. The versatile Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt has been doing double and triple duty as my exercise top, my hiking top, and my favorite daily t-shirt.
Thermoregulation

Lately, I have been wearing the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt for my open water swimming outings in Gothenburg. Now that the weather is getting colder, I need warm, lightweight gear that will fit in my tow bag.
Last night I was swimming in the ocean with phosphorescent plankton, and when I returned to the dock I was freezing because it was raining and the cool fall breeze made it feel much colder than the actual air temperature. It was very helpful to be able to pull on the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt for immediate warmth. More than that, I wasn’t completely dry when I put on it, so I was happy that it dried quickly. I wore a merino hoody over it, and felt very warm for the long drive home.
After two months of wearing the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt almost every day, it is holding up well. It has held it shape, feels soft against my skin, and performs brilliantly for all my activities. All of the seams are flat, so I have not experienced any chafing. I really like the women’s neckline that has narrow ribbing around it. I usually wear men’s tops because I’m 6’ tall, but I find the necklines too high. The Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt is cut long, so it’s been a treat to have a top that fits me and my chest and is still long enough. I used the size guide on the Mammut website to select my usual size, and I love the loose fit.
Bottom Line
I love the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt because it fits well, and it’s so comfortable that I can put it on and forget about it. It has a bit of stretch in it, but it’s not too stretchy. I love that this tee is nice and long through the torso. In warmer temperatures it wicks and breathes well, and now that it’s getting colder the Mammut Tree Wool FL T-Shirt is working well as a base layer. It’s ideal for travel. I’m always smelling it, expecting it to stink. When it doesn’t I feel so happy because I know I can squeeze in more fun before I need to do laundry.
