Deckers X Lab KO-Z ANDES SPSK Boot

A cosy cold-weather boot

Fancy and Functional

The KO-Z ANDES SPSK boot has a thick shearling lining and wool topped insoles that keep my feet, ankles, and lower legs warm in cold weather.

This full-coverage boot is cut nice and wide and has a rocker sole that helps my feet roll from heal to toe with ease. The lightly treaded Vibram sole does a great job of helping me keep my footing on wet pavement and grass. The ANDES SPSK boots are a bit roomier than some of the Deckers X Lab styles I have worn in the past, so I appreciate that the insoles are removable. I can replace them with my full-length cork and leather orthotic to provide me with better arch and metatarsal support and take up a bit of room in the shoe.

I really like the appearance of the KO-Z ANDES SPSK boot. They’re an amalgam of a work book (with rugged top stitched encircling the top of the boot), military boot (laces and straps), fashion boot (suede upper), and athletic shoe (fit). They’re available in several colors in men’s and women’s sizes.

I tested a black boot and really liked the color since I like to cultivate an urban look. I appreciated that I could adjust the fit a few different ways. First, there are the laces, which seem decorative since the boots zip up, but they can cinch the leg of the boot closer to my leg. There’s also a strap that wraps around the heel of the boot that can be adjusted to cinch or loosen the leg of the boot around the back of the heel. Finally, there’s a wide wool wrap-around strap at the top of the boot that can add some height to the boot, and therefore, more weather protection. This strap can also be removed.

Bottom Line

I am a big fan of Deckers X Lab footwear, and I love these fun boots. They keep my feet warm, they are comfortable for walking, they have decent traction, and they look great with jeans or skirts.
