Lightweight 2mm swim gloves for cool and cold water swimming.
Made out of ultra lightweight, thin Yamamoto neoprene, blueseventy’s Thermal Swim Gloves are among my favorite wetsuit accessories. They’re effective at keeping my hands comfortable in mid-50 to 60+ degree F temperature water. They’re loose-fitting rather than snug (unlike all my other neoprene swimming gear), which makes them easy to put on and to remove. Finally, the material and design allow a more natural feel in the water.
Almost Like Not Wearing Gloves
It’s a nice experience to feel that my hands are still in touch with the water rather than encased in thick neoprene gloves (not that I don’t love my 5mm gloves for winter swimming ). When I enter the lake I can feel the pressure of the water surrounding my hands and fingers, almost like I’m not wearing gloves. I love that.
In low 50 degree F temperatures, sometimes my hands feel cold when I first start swimming, but they warm up very quickly. I’m always surprised at how much I like wearing the blueseventy Thermal Swim Gloves because they are so light it’s easy to forget how warm they are.
Ideal for Spring and Fall Temperatures
I wore the blueseventy Thermal Swim Gloves in October and November this past fall (water temps 60 F down to 50 F), then switched to 5mm gloves in December when water temperature dropped into the 40s, then to the 30s in January. I’ve been wearing the blueseventy Thermal Swim Gloves underneath a pair of inexpensive 2mm gloves that aren’t warm at all on their own for the past two weeks as the water temps are climbing into low- and mid-50 F temperature. I’ll be ditching the outer layer gloves in a week or so.
