Big Agnes Columbine Skirt

Since I tend to live in long johns during the winter months (Sorry, I’m old school; just can’t call them base layers) , the Big Agnes Columbine Skirt gets as much use as my favorite winter jacket.

I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest for half my life, but I’m still a modest Midwestern gal at heart, so when I run to the store, I cover up with this lightweight, wrap-around skirt. When I go for a power walk in cold weather but can’t be bothered to change into warmer pants, the Columbine Skirt is always the answer.

Made out of a lightly insulated water-resistant, windproof recycled polyester fabric, the Columbine Skirt does an excellent job of keeping me warm and dry. The A-line cut and wrap-around style give me a great fit. I love that the skirt has an elasticized waistband on the back of the skirt, with seven snaps that allow me to adjust the fit based on how many layers I’m wearing under the skirt (or how much weight I gain by the end of of winter).

I have other insulated skirts, but none as long as the Columbine skirt. I like the longer length, as well as the longer back length. With longer coverage, I can wear the skirt in colder weather for activities that aren’t as strenuous as my daily power walks.  It’s the perfect wrap for watching sports in cold weather since my thighs are completely covered. Skiers will love the Columbine skirt for apres-ski activities, indoor and outdoor. The skirt is also ideal for ice skating because it provides completely ventilated warmth.

Available in sizes S, M, and L in black, green, and purple. It has a small, zippered pocket that’s ideal for keys, i.d., credit card, and lip balm. What else would I need?

Bottom Line: The Columbine Skirt has been my favorite winter garment this year; it hangs on my coatrack so I can grab and wrap on my way out the door!
