Field Testing
Scenario 1
Skiing | 25-35°F | Cascade Mountains, WA

I’ve been wearing the WoolX Stella Leggings for a couple of weeks now, doing everything from skiing to yard work to traveling. They’ve quickly become one of my most-used winter layers. They’re warm, breathable, soft against my skin, and far more comfortable than the cotton leggings I used to wear.
I can’t believe I used to wear cotton leggings under my ski pants. I used to end up sweaty and uncomfortable, and it was hard to remain on the slopes for the hours I wanted to ski. Then, the minute I took a break I was freezing. What a huge difference wool makes. Moisture gets wicked away fast. I stay warm while skiing and comfortable afterward instead of damp and cold. They also keep their shape, with no sagging or stretching out. I can simply air them out between wears instead of washing every time thanks to wool’s natural resistance to odor.
Scenario 2
Yard Work | 28-32° F | Cle Elum, WA
I spent a lot of time at my mountain cabin doing yard work. I’ve been wearing the WoolX Stella Leggings under my work pants, and it’s made a big difference in my comfort level. The leggings are soft and stretchy, so I can move easily without feeling restricted.
The legions do a wonderful job of keeping my legs warm and preventing me from overheating. I really appreciate how breathable the merino wool is because I never get that sweaty, clammy feeling even when I’m working hard.
I also wore the WoolX Stella Leggings under my winter riding pants while taking my horse for a walk in the woods. I liked the streamlined fit. The leggings were never bulky or itchy; just soft, warm, and comfortable.
Scenario 3
Horseback Riding and Outdoor Walks | 28-36°F | Cle Elum, WA
Again, the breathability made a big difference, especially during movement, and I stayed warm without feeling clammy because wool wicks moisture and also stays warm when damp.
Fit
The high-waisted fit is excellent. I appreciate the full coverage on cold days. The WoolX Stella Leggings have a solid 2-inch waistband that sits comfortably at the waist and offers good shaping without digging in. Available in three lengths.
The leggings are stretchy, hold their shape beautifully, and come all the way down to the ankles. I can easily wear socks over or under them depending on what I’m doing. The merino wool fabric feels high quality, soft, and smooth, not scratchy at all.
I always pack my WoolX Stella Leggings when traveling in winter. They work great for casual wear, as a base layer under winter pants, and even for sleeping in cold spaces.
I once slept overnight in a chilly basement wearing them and stayed warm without overheating or waking up sweaty; a real test of breathable insulation.

Bottom Line
The WoolX Stella Leggings have shown me how superior wool is for warmth and moisture management in very cold weather. I wear them most often for skiing and while riding my horse, and they have kept me warm and comfortable every time.
I love the soft, stretchy, shape-holding fabric.
