Field Testing

Scenario 1

Hiking | 30-40° F | Cle Elum, WA

I’ve been wearing the WoolX Baylor Beanie all winter, and it’s become my go-to hat for everything from hiking to running errands. It fits comfortably, whether my hair is down or up in a pony tail, feels incredibly soft from the first wear, and keeps me warm without overheating. (My husband wears it, too, so I have to be quick when I’m leaving the house if I want to put it on before he finds it.)

The merino wool is exceptionally soft and smooth and has no itch at all. It provides immediate warmth without thickness or heaviness, relying on wool’s natural insulation and moisture control rather than bulky fabric.

I wore the WoolX Baylor Beanie on a hike in temperatures in the low 40s, including a long uphill climb where I started working hard and warming up quickly. What impressed me most about this hat was how well it handled moisture. Even though I could tell I was sweating, my head never felt damp or clammy. The merino wool wicked moisture away effectively while continuing to hold warmth, exactly what you want during active cold-weather outings.

Scenario 2

Running Errands | 28-37°F | Cle Elum, WA

I’ve also been wearing the WoolX Baylor Beanie while running errands on cold days, constantly moving between outdoors and warm stores. The hat breathes extremely well, so I don’t overheat indoors, yet it feels instantly warm once I step back outside. That balance makes the Baylor Beanie perfect for real-life winter use where temperatures are always changing.

Scenario 3

Watching Outdoor Sports| 42°F | Seattle, WA

On a chilly day with crisp wind, then Baylor Beanie kept me warm and comfortable while I watched my nephew’s soccer match.

The beanie never felt bulky, stiff, or itchy. In fact, it’s so lightweight that I often forget I’m wearing it.

Fit

Finding a beanie that fits a larger head comfortably isn’t easy, but the WoolX Baylor Beanie stretches just enough to sit naturally without feeling tight or restrictive. It stays in place well, settles naturally on the head, and feels great for all-day wear. Initially, it felt a bit long because it’s designed to have a slouchy fit.
