Field Testing
Scenario 1
Yard Wook | 32°F | Cle Elum, WA

I’ve been wearing the WoolX Hannah Long Sleeve Base Layer for Women nonstop over the past couple of weeks in cold winter conditions, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite cold-weather layers. The tight-knit merino wool fabric is soft, stretchy, and high quality, and it performs exactly how great wool should. It’s warm, breathable, and incredibly comfortable.
I spent an entire day chainsawing branches in freezing temperatures while wearing the WoolX Hannah Long Sleeve Base Layer under a jacket. I was definitely working hard and sweating, but the shirt wicked away moisture quickly and kept me warm even when I stopped for breaks.
In the past, damp cotton or synthetic layers would leave me chilled almost immediately. With this midweight merino wool base layer, I stayed dry, warm, and comfortable all day long.
Scenario 2
Skiing | 28-34°F | Cascade Mountains, WA
I’ve also worn the WoolX Hannah Long Sleeve Base Layer under my down ski coat; it’s been a perfect layering piece. The fabric stretches easily so I can move freely; it never feels restrictive when I’m active. The long cuffs extend under my ski gloves, which keeps my wrists fully covered and eliminates that cold gap where snow and air usually sneak in. It breathes well during activity and prevents that sweaty-then-cold feeling after long runs.
Scenario 3
Horseback Riding | 25-35°F | Cle Elum, WA
The WoolX Hannah Long Sleeve Base Layer has been ideal for riding my horse in cold weather. It’s lightweight and not bulky at all, so I can comfortably wear my protective riding vest over it while still benefiting from its moisture-wicking warmth.
The fabric feels durable enough for active use, stretches with movement, and stays comfortable no matter how long I’m outside.

Materials & Construction
Material/Fabric: The merino wool fabric is soft, smooth, and never itchy. It has great stretch and snaps right back into shape; there’s no sagging or bagging even after weeks of wear. This midweight fabric is ideal for cold weather. Flat-locked princess seams give the top a slim, body-hugging fit.
One of my favorite benefits of wearing merino wool is the natural odor resistance. I’ve worn this base layer repeatedly for two weeks and it still doesn’t smell, which means far less washing compared to cotton or synthetic shirts.
It also looks great on its own. I’ve worn it from working in the yard straight out to dinner with jeans or pants, and it holds its shape and color beautifully. The tight-knit wool gives it a polished look that doesn’t scream “base layer.”

Bottom Line
The WoolX Hannah Long Sleeve Base Layer for Women delivers everything I want in a cold-weather shirt: warmth, breathability, stretch, durability, and real-world versatility.
It keeps me dry during hard work and warm when I slow down. It moves comfortably during sports including horseback riding and skiing, and it looks good enough to wear out in the evening. Add in the incredible odor resistance and shape retention, and this becomes a piece I reach for constantly.
