Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt

What’s more fun than a pearl-snaps shirt in a springy color that’s just as at home at the cowboy bar as it is at the climbing wall? The Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt!

I love the Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt because it gives me a chance to not look super geared out when doing sports with a lot of lifestyle crossover. For me, skiing, climbing, and surfing all fit into this category. It’s nice to break free of the long underwear/fleece/hoody/windlayer routine, and the Mirror Ball shirt has allowed me to do this on multiple occasions. On a beautiful, sunny, 40+ degree day at the end of the ski season, it was a great midlayer for careening downhill on groomers, helping me regulate my temperature well by wicking and breathing. At the end of the day, as I drank an après glass of wine with friends while tailgating at a concert at the base of the resort, I kept my Mirror Ball on and changed in to jeans for a stylish, comfortable outfit.

The Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt came in handy last month on my week-long surf trip to Sayulita, Mexico. Even though daytime temps were hot, in the high 80’s, the evenings cooled down to the low 70’s. The Mirror Ball shirt was just an easy snap over my tank top to comfort, with a little more flair than a hoody that still fit right in to the laid-back surf town style. I also wore my Mirror Ball directly over my swimsuit on a few hot sunny days when I had to carry my surfboard for a while and wanted long sleeve protection. I appreciated the soft lined inside and the chest pockets for stashing lipgloss and a few pesos and how the outer fabric was tough and able to resist and shed sand and water. My friends on the trip took notice of my cool new tech-fabric button-up shirt, and were amazed and slightly envious that such a product existed.

I can already tell that I’m going to get a lot of mileage out of my Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt. It’s a versatile and fun piece that suits my inner tomboy and also has a flattering fit, with a feminine take on plaid. I’ll use it a lot for sport climbing, river trips, SUP-ing, camping, and day hikes (and going out to the bar afterward); probably a little less so for backpacking or running where I would prefer something lighter weight, more packable, and with more stretch.

The Core Concepts Women’s Mirror Ball Hybrid Shirt is available for women in Coral and Clearwater/Eggplant in sizes XS – XL. Men, try the Core Concepts Whiskey River Shirt. I found my usual size Small to be nice and fitted, but just a little small across my climber’s shoulders.

Bottom Line: A super fun snap-button shirt made from a technical fabric for a versatile lifestyle. A fun transformation from a classic western shirt to a technical, fitted top just for women.
