Woolrich Buffalo Check Wool Shirt : A Classic from Generation to Generation

My Buffalo Check Wool Shirt from Woolrich is the classic heavy-duty wool shirt I imagine the characters in a Jack London story wear--even down to the red and black check pattern.

With the fall rains settling in over the Pacific Northwest, it's been at the top of the coat rack since I received it a couple weeks ago. The Woolrich shirt is heavier than other wool shirts I have, so I can wear it as an outer layer if the weather's mild or if I'm only going to be outside for a minute to get the mail or put out the trash. We've had a pretty wet and windy storm system moving through the last couple days, so I've been using it more for a snugly insulation layer under a jacket.     

Modern fabrics have a lot to offer but one of the reasons wool has persisted as a standard material for clothing is its durability. I still wear hand-me-down wool shirts that my grandfather wore 50 years ago. I haven't had my Buffalo Shirt very long, but barring accidents I'm confident it'll be serviceable when my toddler age children are old enough to reach the cuff.
