Wigwam Hiking Socks : For Men and Women
I'm an active hiker, so wearing quality socks with my hiking boots is an absolute must. I've recently discovered Wigwam's vast array of specialty outdoors socks. I've been out with my dog every weekend tackling the hilly trails of the California coastal mountains, and my feet have remained dry and comfortable on every hike I've taken since I've started wearing Wigwam socks. Here are the three I've been wearing: The Silver Wool Hiker is a lightweight hiking sock with the softness of Merino wool and the stretch of nylon and spandex for a nice foot-hugging fit. They have a cushiony sole, a seamless toe closure, and are specially designed to eliminate foot odor. These socks are ideal for hiking, camping, and even power walking. They're available in four different colors. (Contents" 47% Stretch Nylon, 45% Merino Wool, 7% Dri-release®, 1% Spandex) When I'm looking for a sock with a silkier feel, I wear Wigwam's Merino/Silk Nomad socks (pictured here). I love them. They're a good mid-weight style with a foot hugging, cushiony sole. Thanks to the breathable mesh air vents along the top of the foot, they do an excellent job of repelling moisture. The Merino/Wool Nomad comes in five different colors. (Contents:33% Dri-release®, 30% Merino Wool, 27% Stretch Nylon, 8% Silk, 2% Spandex) Wigwam's Merino Comfort Hiker has a higher Merino wool content than the other two socks mentioned above, and they are so soft and nice to wear, especially on longer hikes. They're also one of my favorite socks for just wearing around the house, especially on cold winter nights. They also have a foot-hugging design and a seamless toe closure. And they come in 10 different colors! (Contents: 70% Merino Wool, 25% Stretch Nylon, 5% Elastic) All of these Wigwam socks are easy to care for. For best results, I turn them inside out and then toss them into a load I'm washing on a normal cycle setting. No bleach or fabric softener needed. Then I tumble dry with low heat, or even hang them to dry on a wooden rack. Wigwam socks come in an vast array of different colors and a wide range of sizes running from toddlers/youth up through women's and men's sizes. Bottom Line: Designed for durability and comfort for a variety of outdoor adventures.--C.E.W. (Nov. '10) BUY ONLINE: $12 Merino Comfort Hiker Manufacturer's Site: www.wigwam.com
