Teva Vero Boot : Insulated, Waterproof, and Adorable

I'm not usually excited for the cold snap of winter, but Teva's adorable Vero boots have made me dream of crisp fall days and après ski evenings.

These super cute suede boots have some distinctive features that make them stand out from the crowd, such as the contrast stitching along each side of the laces and the contrast-colored laces. They're also ultra lightweight, so I don't feel clunky when I wear them.

A full-length side zipper makes getting in and out of my Vero boots easy so I don't have to redo the lacing them every time. Mine fit perfectly the first time, but for a more custom fit, I can adjust the laces as needed. I tend to cinch the laces a bit when wearing thin socks or tights, then I loosen the laces when I want to wear my pant legs tucked into the boots.

Teva's Vero boots are made of soft, waterproof suede leather. On the inside of the boots there's a lightly quilted fabric liner made of 3M's Thinsulate, an incredibly thin but effective insulating material, that keeps my calves warm. I like the smooth lining in the front of the boot; it makes slipping my feet in and out of the boots so easy. The Vero boots also have an invisible waterproof membrane behind the liner so my feet stayed warm and dry even after traipsing around all weekend through wet and snowy conditions. (I was so happy to have my Vero boots last week while vacationing in Tahoe when an early season snow storm hit!)

I was surprised to find out that these boots have much more to offer than style and weather protection--I can actually do a lot of walking in them. I covered a lot of ground on my vacation, and my feet never got tired. The Vero boots have shock-absorbing soles, with extra shock protection in the heels, as well as a semi-rugged treaded sole that has plenty of "grip" so I don't slip and slide on wet, snowy surfaces. (These boots have removable insoles, too, so women who wear orthotics will be able to swap them out.)
