Smartwool Columbine Hoody : Cuter Than the Rest
Now that I've found my favorite all-around top-Smartwool's Columbine Hoody, I feel a little bad for everyone who doesn't have one because when I wear it, I'm the cutest. This foxy lightweight top is just what I need for fall and winter and cool spring nights. Made out of soft merino wool, it has excellent wicking and insulation properties if I want to wear it for outdoor activities, but it's so stylish that I prefer to wear it every day I can with jeans and boots (which I can do because merino wool can be worn for days before it starts to smell). I like the half zip and hood, which give me options if I'm outside and want to bundle up. I also love the thumb holes because I can keep my hands warm on cold days--and the sleeves are actually long enough for my long arms. Of course, the fabulous purple color is the icing on the cake, but what I love most about this top is the fit. Like other Smartwool tops I've tested, the Hoody seems to be made with me in mind. I'm 5'11," so finding shirts that are long enough to cover my belly is always a challenge. The Hoody is cut long enough in the torso for ladies like me to get the coverage we need; regular sized women will love the fit, too, and have room to tuck in the top. I also like the raglan sleeve (with contrast stitching) design because it's a very flattering style that will allow many different sized woman to find a good fit. Bottom Line: If you think next-to-you-skin wool will be scratchy, think again. The new wool is soft, strong, and beautiful. If you take care of it, you'll have it for a long, long time.
