Point6 Light Mini Crew Running Sock
I have too many socks, but that's the way I like it. I also have a lot of shoes, and they all fit differently; having a variety of socks means I always get a good fit. I'm normally not a fan of ultra thin socks. Even with snug-fitting shoes I like some fabric between the bottom of my feet and my shoes. That's what I get in Point6's Light Mini Crew running sock. The bottom of the sock is very lightly padded, the rest of the sock is thinner. So, I get a lightweight sock that doesn't feel paper thin. Made out of 54% merino wool, 44% nylon, and 2% spandex, Point6's Light Mini Crew running sock gives me the benefits of natural and synthetic fibers. The sock does a great job of breathing and wicking away moisture. That means I can wear the same pair for days in a row if I want to. (Merino wool is naturally odor resistant.) Thanks to contour-hugging stretch panels across the top and through the arch, I get a great-fitting sock that stays in place. The sock also has enough stretch in the material to give me total freedom of movement. I also like that the toe seam is offset across the top of the toes and woven in such a way that there is no seam. Nice. Most of the time I prefer low-cut socks for running and power walking. I like that the Point6 Light Mini Crew sock has a 3/4"-wide band around the top of the sock. It's snug enough that dirt and debris don't get in my sock but not at all tight. Available in three colors in women's sizes. Point6 makes similarly styled running, lifestyle, and active wear socks for men, too. Bottom LIne: Thin but still substantial, fits well, breathes well.--E.D. (Sept '10) Price: $15.95, click to shop. Manufacturer's Site: www.point6.com
