PacSafe Camera Shoulder Bag : Keep Your Gear Near

Travel and photography are two of my major passions; my digital SLR camera is my constant companion. I have been looking for a compact camera bag that could take anywhere and that would securely protect my camera in all situations. I found just what I needed in the PacSafe Camera Shoulder Bag.

I like the size and configuration of this bag. It's fully padded and just large enough to contain my camera, an additional mid-size lens, and a few additional components. The camera and extra lens fit in the main compartment; a zippered pocket on the front contains three SD card pockets, electronic gadget pockets and a key clip; and in the rear, a slip pocket and handle. What more could I ask for?

I take a trip to Europe each year and often travel by buses, trains, and subways within the busy cities. These public transportation systems are wonderful but they are usually also very congested. I feel better carrying a bag that helps me protect my camera and valuables from the pickpockets who target travelers in these scenes takes extra vigilance. The bag is made to resist vandals who might try to slash the straps or the lower section of the bag to make off with the contents before the unsuspecting traveler notices. That won't happen with this PacSafe camera bag though because the straps are embedded with high-tensile stainless steel wire, and the bag fabric contains a layer of woven stainless steel wire mesh that will stand up to any potential slasher's blade.

The camera itself is protected in the zippered main compartment that opens only to the rear. This offers me easy camera access, as well as extra security in crowded situations.

To help ward off purse snatchers while relaxing or dining in a restaurant or while distracted when going after that perfect shot, I just unfasten the metal clip of the slashproof strap, wrap it around the chair or another secure fixture, reattach and use the built-in combination lock to secure my bag.

Pickpockets will also be denied access to my valuables because all the zippers are tamperproof. The zippers latch onto metal spring hooks or can be secured with small luggage locks to keep them together.
