Gramicci Lode Star Short : "Cool" By Every Definition

I came home one afternoon to find a large padded envelope from Gramicci on my porch.   I had been looking forward to getting my Loadstar shorts but when I picked it up I was bummed because it felt empty. I opened it just to be sure.   Low and behold, there were my new shorts. Considerably lighter than I expected. Awesome.

They fit so nicely when I tried them on that I lived in them for the rest of the week. Right off the bat they felt like well-worn favorites;  the quick drying fabric was really soft.

Part of what makes these shorts fit so well is that they move well. Six panels of fabric intersect at the inseam. It's interesting to look at from a design perspective but the result is that the legs have a wide range of movement without riding up. It also makes for a roomy but not saggy fit. A nice feature since I'm not interested in dressing like a teenager or walking around with a wedgie.

Another thing I really like about these shorts is the long lenth. Perhaps I'm overly modest, but I like a close to knee-length short.   I also like the large deep pockets that are secure enough to keep keys and large enough to comfortably carry a digital camera or a couple of energy bars.

Gramicci offers a wide variety of urban- and trail-friendly clothing in women's and men's styles.   Also worth checking out is their "Greenicci" line made with hemp, organic cotton and recycled materials.

Also avialable as a pant. See our store.....

Bottom Line: A lightweight short suitable for around town, a day at the beach or a trip to the mountains. --A.S. (July '08)

Worldwide there are more than 12,000 species of ferns. In New Zealand, the silver fern is the national symbol. According to Maori culture, the unfurling tip of the fern, called a "koru," represents the cycle of life and death. This image is often used in art and jewelry.
