Columbia Klondike Work Pant : A Perfect Fit

As soon as I pulled on these pants, I was a fan. They fit perfectly -- not baggy (like size large pants are on me), and not too short (like size medium pants are for me). While most men's outdoor pants only come in small, medium and large, these Columbia Klondike Work Pants are available with three inseam lengths and a variety of waists.
So instead of being stuck with a size medium with an inseam four inches too short, I now have a pant that perfectly fits my 32-inch waist and a 34-inch inseam. And I know they'll continue to fit after I wash them because they're made of a shrink-resistant blend of cotton, polyester, and a stretchy elastane material.
The first day I wore them, I had a long day on the trail and at work -- and I loved every step. I began my day with a morning hike with my dog, trudging through shin-deep snow in the mountains of Colorado. The pants are part of Columbia's Titanium collection, a performance line, and as a result are a little warmer than typical twill pants or cords. As we scrambled around some rocks on the snow-covered trail, I never felt like my range of motion was hindered thanks to the stretchy material and the gusseted inseam.
Later that day, wearing the same clothes, I did a photo shoot in Boulder. Good thing I was wearing the Klondike pants -- they're loaded with five pockets and a thigh loop so I had plenty of places to stash my small camera gear. I was shooting a yoga instructor, and I often needed to crawl around on the ground to get cool camera angles. It was a good thing the pants have a durable double-layer knee.
Best part of all: the pants passed professional attire. At the end of the day, on my way home, I stopped at the climbing gym for an evening burn. Once more, the pants worked out well due and allowed for a good range of motion. How many pants can you go hiking in, wear to work, and then wear climbing?
