Asolo Outrider Trail Shoes : Hot to Trot

I live in Southern California where it's mostly hot, but we do get rain. So I need a trail running shoe that will hold up in a warmer environment, provide traction, and still be comfortable when it's wet.
My daily fitness route starts with a steep downhill paved street that leads to trails of rocks and dirt. On damp mornings, it can be a challenge running down the road. I felt surefooted in my firm Asolo Outrider shoes, and able to kick into high gear without falling on my face.
The Outrider runs true to size and they felt a little firm when I first worn them. With a little wear, they quickly adapted to my foot shape. This means they feel more like a part of my feet rather than something worn over the foot.
On hot days, the mesh uppers easily and efficiently vent moisture without sacrificing protection. Reinforced toe and heel protection really stand up to the scuffs, scrapes, and bumps of the trail. The wide and firm sole platform makes a real difference in reducing foot and ankle fatigue.
